William Ivory Penn was a caring son, brother, uncle, and friend. He transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on April 3, 2021 at Jackson General Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Penn are Monday, April 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 12:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
William was born on September 6, 1974 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to parents James and Eunice Penn. He graduated from McKenzie High School Class of 1993. He attended Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. William developed a passion for sales and spend 20 years selling for various companies in the Nashville Metropolitan area. He professed his love for Christ at an early age. He was a member of Enon Missionary Baptist Church. In his youth, he was a choir member and helped take care of the church’s lawn.
He is survived by his mother, Eunice Carol Penn, of McKenzie, TN; brother, James (Latoria) McKenzie, of Murfreesboro, TN; sister, Shannon Cowan, of Murfreesboro, TN; uncles, Norman (Charlotte) McKenzie, James (Annie) McKenzie of Detroit, Michigan; and nieces, Alexandria McKenzie, of Knoxville, TN; Carrington McKenzie, Kennedi McKenzie, Neveah Wade; and nephew Jamir Elexander, of Murfreesboro, TN; great aunts, Georgia Boone, of Milwaukee, WI; Cora Thomas of Huntington, TN; Mattie (Charles) Copeland, McKenzie, TN; great uncle, H.B. Adkisson of McKenzie, TN. He was preceded in death by his father, James Penn, of Indianapolis, Indiana; his maternal grandparents, Norman and Bessie McKenzie, of McKenzie, TN; and his aunt Mary Fentroy, of Phoenix, AZ.
