Funeral services for Russell Todd Newman “Rusty” is Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 4:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. and Thursday 11:00 a.m. until service time. Brother Dennis Trull is the officiant and burial is at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie, TN. Pallbearers to serve are Aaron Oakley, Cameron Oakley, Grant Newman, Clay Newman, Brian Bennett and Tim Carter. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Smith, Dave Wood, Gabe Clericuzio, Jimmy Crossett, Dave Hacker, Ben Whitehead, Missy Reeder, Robyn Hatler and Kirsten Sass.  

Mr. Newman, age 55, died Monday, July 8, 2019 at Henry County Medical Center. He is a member of First Baptist Church, a deacon, and Co-Owner/ manager of McKenzie Auto Parts. He is a graduate of McKenzie High School and Bethel Success program. Rusty enjoyed training and competing for marathons, and cycling events which challenged him to try open swim which lead to competing in triathlons. He was born November 4, 1963 in Milan,TN to Marvin and Mary Elizabeth Newman. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Max Bennett and Curtis and Amanda Newman.

He is survived by his wife of thirty four years Lisa Aldridge Newman of McKenzie, daughter Rachel Newman of McKenzie, two sons Mark (Lauren) Newman of Memphis and Zachary (Riley Toombs) Newman of McKenzie, his parents Marvin and Mary Newman of McKenzie, two sisters Nina (Jeff) Owen of Suwanee, GA and Amanda (John) Oakley of McKenzie two brothers Carey (Heather) Newman of McKenzie and Joseph (Stefanie) Newman of Maryville, grandmother Corene Bennett and granddaughter Ava Newman.
