Funeral Services for Minnie Pearl “Me Maw” Haynes is Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Interment is at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Ms. Minnie Pearl Haynes expired October 10, 2021 at the age of 76 at Baptist Hospital, Huntingdon, TN. She was born September 12, 1945 to the late George Wesley and Lucille Berry Haynes in Henry, TN.
Minnie Pearl was educated in the Public School of Henry County, TN. At an early age, she accepted Chris in her life. She attended Coles Chapel CME Church with her mother. After moving to McKenzie, she united with Johnson Temple CME Church, where she was a faithful member. She served as secretary of the church and President of the Usher Board.
Minnie Pearl or "Pearl" as she was fondly known and "Me Maw" was employed at the McKenzie Pajama Factory, Atlantic Homes and McKenzie Health Care, where she worked in the Dietary Department until her health began to fail and led to her retirement.
Pearl is preceded in death by her parents, George and Wesley and Lucille Haynes, her fraternal grandmother Rosie Milton Haynes, who helped rear her after the death of her mother and step-mother Alice; two brothers George Louis Haynes and James Thomas Haynes.
Minnie Pearl leaves to cherish her memories one daughter Demeteria Strayhorn, McKenzie, one son Keith Haynes, two granddaughters Wynter and Shay, and three great-grandchildren D.J., My' ami, and Bra'shelle; two sisters Florence Olgesby and Ruby Owens; a faithful niece Mrs. Evelyn Owens Etheridge; other nieces and nephews, cousins, and other relatives; and a special friend Anita Townes.
