Mary K. Stephens, 79, passed away on October 27, 2019, in North Little Rock. She was born
November 4, 1939 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Jack and Elva Reynolds. Mary was preceded in
death by her parents and her brother, Joe Reynolds. She is survived by her loving family, which
includes her devoted husband of 61 years, Bobby Stephens; her sister, Pat Partridge and husband,
Les of Plano, Texas; daughters, Dana Parker-Gilbert and husband, John of North Little Rock,
Suzie Thames and husband, Glenn of Tyler, Texas, and Renee Cotton of North Little Rock;
grandchildren, Tyler Parker, Jeremy Thames and wife, Ariel, Parker Thames, Dawson Thames,
Jacob Wilson, and Chandler Wilson; and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and their
families.
Mary was a true angel on this earth. She will be remembered by her generosity, beautiful smile
(those dimples!), her sweet angelic voice and, her beautiful bright eyes! She was absolutely the
most devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt and sister who loved her family
unconditionally and put others before herself. She was an amazing cook who loved nothing more
than feeding her family and friends, who would regularly gather at her home to enjoy the
wonderful food, fellowship and laughter that Grandmommy always provided. To know Mary was
to love her! And, you were always welcome in her home!
She graduated from Little Rock Central in 1957, married Bobby in 1958 and held several jobs
over the years, including cashier at Merrill Lynch in Little Rock for over 20 years. But, above all,
Mary loved her family and made a full time job after retirement keeping up with all of her little
chicks! She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi and loved attending functions and visiting
with her sorority sisters.
“Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you … For I was
hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you
welcomed me, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you took care of me …”
Matthew 25:34-36. Grandmommy, enjoy His kingdom. If anyone deserves it, it is you!
The family would like to personally thank Dr. Omer Khalil at Carti who took the absolute best
care of her the last 3 years. He gave peace and comfort in the midst of her struggles not only to
Mary, but to her family and for this we are forever grateful.
