Dateline: McKenzie, TN Funeral Services for Mr. Malcolm Taylor are Friday, September 17, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 16, 5:00 -8:00 p.m. and Friday 10:00 a.m. until service time. Brother Dennis Trull is the officiant and interment is at TN Veterans Cemetery Parkers Crossroads. A Masonic Service is Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and all are invited to attend. Mr. Taylor, 89 years old, died Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Mr. Taylor is a member of First Baptist Church, a Gideon, a retired Superintendent of Maintenance for McKenzie Special School District, a 32nd Degree Master Mason, Shriner, and just awarded his 50 year service pin for the Eastern Star. Mr. Taylor joined the Army at an early age and served during the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict. During his time in the Army he was a Club Manager, awarded the Bronze Star along with several other medals and retired as Master Sergeant. He was born in Serles, TN to Almos Taylor and Ollie Mae Cooper Coston on May 15, 1932. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Lossie Beers and Margaret Guzidal, a brother Earl Taylor and a grandchild. He is survived by his wife Shirley Banks Taylor, five daughters Glenda Pugh of McKenzie, Patricia (Gary, Jr) Stanley of McKenzie, Jeanette (Chris) Vibbert of Cleveland, OH, Donna (Doug) Wren of Milan and Charlotte Wallace of Jackson, one son David (John Roedel) Taylor of Desert Edge, CA, fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
