James Marshall Haywood
9/19/1934 – 11/30/2020
Age 86 of McKenzie, Tennessee, entered eternal life Monday, November 30, 2020 after a sudden illness. He was a much-loved husband, father, brother-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. Jim was a good, kind and generous man. Born in McKenzie, TN he served in the Tennessee National Guard. Former resident of Lockport, IL and Hot Springs Village AR, he worked for many years at Cornell Forge Company, built a successful Amway business with his wife Betty then became a licensed real estate agent in Arkansas. His devoted faith in the Baptist church community was a very important part of his life. He was an avid pool player and loved to play golf. His gentle and generous personality will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survived by his loving wife of (65) years, Betty (nee Archer) of McKenzie, TN, son James Michael and (Ann) Haywood of Homer Glen, IL, son David Haywood of Houston TX, three loving grandchildren, Michael and (Kelsey) Haywood, Katherine and (Peter) Kaftantzis, Mathew and (Julie) Haywood, six beautiful great-grandchildren, Reed, Remington and Silvia Haywood, Anastasia and Alexander Kaftantzis and Daphne Haywood, sister-in-law Mary (late Harold) Gunn, brother-in-law Robert (Connie) Archer, brother-in-law Larry (Joy) Gideon, several nephews and nieces and many friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, brother-in-law James (Ann) Alexander, sister-in law Joann Green, sister-in-law Martha (Ted) Birmingham
Due to Covid-19 precautions, a private family service will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Shiloh Cemetery, McKenzie, TN.
