Funeral Services for Mrs. Geneva Taylor Bledsoe are Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 16, 2024, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Saturday, 12:00 p.m. until service time. Interment is at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie and the repass is at Webb School.

Mrs. Bledsoe, 100 years old, died Monday, August 5, 2024, at her residence in McKenzie. She was born in Brownsville on February 20, to Wiley and Maggie Wills Taylor. She is a member of Johnson Temple CME Church, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and a school teacher for over 50 years. She began her career in teaching in Haywood County, and later to teach at Webb School and McKenzie Elementary School. 

She is survived by her daughters Melba Tucker of Owensboro, KY and Jennifer Bledsoe of McKenzie, a brother Joe Taylor of Brownsville, one grandson Taurus Bledsoe, two great-grandchildren Joshua Bledsoe and Charrish Bledsoe and a Great great granddaughter Amara Rose Bledsoe.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 33 years L.C. Bledsoe, sisters Lee Esther Howard, Elizabeth Wiley, Bessie Prather and Wilette Perry and brothers Pack Taylor, Mack Taylor, Earl Taylor, Raymond Taylor, James Taylor, O.C. Taylor and Finis Taylor.
