Bobby Joe Newton

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Bobby Joe Newton is tentatively set for April 16, 2022. The time will be announced at a later date.

Mr. Newton died at Brookdale Belle Meade in Nashville on March 3, 2022. He was born on February 9, 1934 in McKenzie to J.A. and Willie Penny Newton. Mr. Newton was a radio announcer for WHDM for over 40 years and also taught special education in Carroll and Montgomery counties. He is a member of McKenzie First United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his son Michael (Allison) Newton of Nashville, a brother in law Gaylon Biggs, sister in law Jettie Ann (Bobby) Bowers, nieces Tracy Newton Best, Joanne Hutchins, Etta Heizman, Ruth Johnson and Tammy (Kenny) Trevathan and nephews Jason ( Andrea) Hoffman and Bobby Hoffman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings and wife Jo Biggs Newton.  The family suggests that memorials can be directed to the McKenzie United Methodist Church.
