Betty Vaughn Akins

Betty Jean Akins, age 88, died, Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Akins is Friday, July 31, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends Friday, July 31, 2020 9:00 a.m. until service time. Internment is at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Akins was born on December 9, 1931 in Carroll Co., TN to Lonnie Calvin and Brooxie Birtie Rochell Vaughn. She is a member of Atwood United Methodist Church, a homemaker and a retired factory worker.

She is survived by, two sons Mitch Akins and Kirk (Shelly) Akins all of Milan, four grandchildren Brooke (Kyle) Pearson, Abby Akins, Andrew Akins and Chad (Oukie) Akins and two great-grandchildren Owen and Eli.

 She is preceded in death by her husband Samuel Earl Akins who died June 30, 2020, a sister Martha Griffin and a brother Ray Lynn Vaughn.
