RUTH EMOHWEN BAKER April 26, 1918 - April 14, 2010 Mrs. Ruth Emohwen Baker, 91, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 14, 2010 surrounded by her family at her home in Olive Branch, Mississippi. She lived a long and fruitful life and is greatly missed by many. Ruth was born April 26, 1918 in Greenfield, Tennessee, to the late James and Maude (Drewry) Dunning. She lived in Michigan for a number of years before returning to McKenzie with her husband Lewis Dale Baker. Together they moved to Olive Branch in 2006. She will long be remembered for her love of God and her family, her gift of hospitality, her love of cooking and a mean game of Skip Bo. In addition to being a skilled homemaker, Ruth had a number of jobs, from working in a bakery to sewing parachutes for drag racing cars. Her strong will and deep faith continue to live on in her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, seven of her nine siblings, Floyd Dunning, John Dunning, Myrtle Lewis, Walter Dunning, Harry Dunning, Jake Dunning, Homer Dunning; one child, Mary Joyce Maynard; and two grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Lewis Dale Baker; four children, Peggy Greene, Carolyn Regan, Betty Pike and David Maynard; two step-children, Ronnie Baker and Sue Kotilla; one sister, Dorothy Bateman; one brother, James Dunning; and several grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Baker will be at McKenzie Funeral Home on Sunday April 18, 2010 starting at 4:00 pm till 7:00 pm and Monday April 19, 2010 starting at 9:30 am till service time. Funeral services will be Monday April 19, 2010 at 11:00 am at McKenzie Funeral Home in McKenzie, TN with burial to follow in New Prospect Cemetery near Greenfield, TN McKenzie Funeral Home----McKenzie, Tennessee 731-352-4848
