Freda Jean Edwards

Dateline: McKenzie, TN Services for Freda Jean Davis Edwards, 77, will be held Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 11:00 am at McKenzie Funeral Home with Elders Buren Churchwell and Ed Long officiating. Interment will follow at Everetts Chapel Cemetery near McKenzie. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 4:00 pm until 8:30 pm and Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Mrs. Edwards, a Nursing assistant and former owner of the City Cafe in McKenzie, died Monday, September 27, 2010 at McKenzie Regional Hospital. She was born on April 11, 1933 in Ida, Arkansas to Grover L. and Martha Jane Reed Davis. She was a member of The McKenzie Primitive Baptist Church, a graduate of Wilburn, Arkansas High School, a former Boy Scouts Den Mother and avid quilt maker. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Shawnna Edwards Brittingham, three sisters Ather Davis Moorehead, Ethel Davis Reeves, Ava Davis Sanders, six brothers Otis Davis, Oather Davis, Oran Davis, Opie Davis and two infant brothers. Survivors include her husband Billy Ray Edwards of 57 years with their date of marriage on April 16, 1953, two sons and their wives Billy Keith and Tamara Edwards of Buchanan, TN, Dennis Ray and Gale Edwards of McKenzie, a brother Omer Davis of Quitman, Arkansas, three grandchildren Jason Edwards of McKenzie, Billy (Tammy) Edwards of Buchanan, Chandra Edwards and (Joel) Pate and nine great grandchildren.
