Gene Paul Goodrum

Dateline: Dresden Services for Gene Paul Goodrum, 70, will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 11:00 am at McKenzie Funeral Home with Brothers Rick Walker and Edward Eubank officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 9:00 am until service time. Mr. Goodrum, the retired owner of the McKenzie Lumber Company, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at his residence in Dresden. He was born on November 21, 1939 in Selmer, Tennessee to Onie Nathaniel and Ruby ODell Gable Goodrum. He was a member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church near the Weakley County community of Austin Springs, a member of the American Legion, Gideons, and a Veteran of the US Navy during the years of 1957--1964. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 32 years Teresa Ann Scott Goodrum of Dresden, a daughter Carrie Hollowell of Trezevant, TN, two sons Doug Goodrum of Paris, TN, Jonathan Goodrum of Dresden, TN, two sisters Linda Robertson of Memphis, TN, Rita Fulcher of Latham, TN, two brothers Max Goodrum of McKenzie, TN, Rex Goodrum of Sharon, TN, and three grandchildren.
