Dateline: McKenzie, TN Services for Joe Wallace Hickman, 70, will be held Monday, November 17, 2008 at 2:00 pm at McKenzie Funeral Home with Bros. Ed Long and Bobby Mann officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 16, 2008 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Monday, November 17, 2008 from 10:00 am until service time. Mr. Hickman, an auto mechanic and drag racing participant, died Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. He was born on June 20, 1938 in McKenzie, TN to Joe and Shellie Thompson Hickman. He was a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a drag racing member at the North West Tennessee Motor Park Track in Gleason. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother John E. Hickman. Survivors include his wife of 49 years Hazel Barlow Hickman of McKenzie, Four sons and their wives Joe Wayne and Donna Hickman of McKenzie, Freddie Ray and Angie Hickman of Gleason, Teddy Dean Hickman of McKenzie, and Tony Lynn and Jessica Hickman of McKenzie, five grandchildren, and one great grandchild .
