Guy Thomas Mathis

Dateline: McKenzie, TN Services for Guy Thomas Mathis, 77, will be held Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 2:00 PM at McKenzie Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Trull officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Sunday, November 1, 2009 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Mr. Mathis, a retired Bank Manager for Bank of Gleason, an employee at the McKenzie Banking Company for 37 years, and he also served in the US Navy during the Korean War, died Friday, October 30, 2009 at Regional Hospital of Jackson. He was born on April 27, 1932 in Trezevant, TN to Harmon and Lucille Pinkley Mathis. He was a member of McKenzie First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Helen Cooper Mathis of McKenzie. One son: Phillip Mathis of Destin, FL. One brother: William Mathis of Iuka, MS.
