Robert L. Prather

Dateline: McKenzie, TN Services for Mr. Robert Laurence Prather, 81, will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 2:00pm at McKenzie Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Caledonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 1, 2008 from 4:30pm until 8:00pm and Saturday, February 2, 2008 from 11:00am until service time. Mr. Prather, a retired factory worker, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at McKenzie Regional Hospital. He was born on September 09, 1926 in Clarksburg, TN to Willie V. and Lessie Phillips Prather. He was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He served during WW II in the US Navy and later a memember of the Tennessee Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Jana E. Hodge who died in 1996. Survivors include his wife Lavada Smith Prather of McKenzie, four sons Jerry Prather of Huntingdon, Robert S. Prather of Dresden, Terry D. Prather and Stephen E. Prather both of McKenzie, one sister Mary Vawter of Trenton, TN, eight grandchildren . McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
