Dateline: McKenzie, TN Services for John Robert Smith, 83, will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 10:00 am at McKenzie Funeral Home with Bros. Mike Doede and Noris Milton officiating. Interment will follow at Jolly Springs Cemetery near Dresden. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 27, 2009 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Tuesday, July 28, 2009 from 8:00 am until service time. Mr. Smith was a former serviceman in the US Army, the US Navy and US Air Force serving during WW II, died Sunday, July 26, 2009 at his residence. He was born on February 4, 1926 in Dresden, Tennessee to Lester Dewey and Lue Donnie Cooley Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby G. Hudgins Smith. Survivors include two daughters F. Jeaneette (Terry) Theriot of McKenzie, Glenda K. (Edward) Hubbard of Morrilton, AR, two sons Glenn E. (Sue) Smith of McKenzie, Gregory L. (Sandy) Smith of Paris, a sister Genevia (Kenneth) Wright of Dresden, a brother Robey Smith of Dresden, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren .
