Dateline: McKenzie, TN Services for Edward Henry Soap Soper, 78, will be held Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 2:00 pm at McKenzie Funeral Home with Bro Kenny Carr officiating also speaking will be Daniel Watson and Rocky Symth. Entombment will follow at Everetts Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 29, 2008 from 12:30 pm until Service Time. Dr. Soper, a retired Oral Surgeon, Dentist, former Instructor at Loyola University in Chicago and an US Army Veteran serving in the 2nd Battalion 503 Infantry Airborne The Rock and the 11th Airborne Division, died Friday, June 27, 2008 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson. He was born on December 16, 1929 in Albany, New York to the late Edward and Onie Ulrich Soper. He was a member of the Episcopalian Church. He was preceded in death by parents and a sister in law Jane Fowler. Survivors include His wife of 54 years Marjorie Lemonds Soper of McKenzie, one sister Marie Hudgins of Huntington Beach, CA, two brother in laws and their wives, Kenneth and Marty Lemonds of Gleason, Ray and Martha Lemonds of McKenzie, two sister in laws, Julia Fowler of Gleason and Audrey and her husband Dwayne Crossett of McKenzie. Serving as Pallbearers will be Kenny Lee Lemonds, David Crossett, Steve Fowler, Terry Smith, Tim Crossett and Tommy Fowler. McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
