Vaughnell Brush Webb

Vaughnell Brush Webb, 94, of McKenzie, died December 22 at McKenzie Health Care Center. Mrs. Webb was born July 27, 1915, in Weakley County to William Henry Brush and Lou Ellen Trentham Brush. She moved to McKenzie in her teens, and was a 1935 graduate of McKenzie High School. After becoming widowed in 1947, Mrs. Webb began a career as a salesperson with Stanley Home Products and continued to sell their products for 58 years. She was the leading salesperson in the entire company on multiple occasions and won several national awards with the company during her career. After being named the number one salesperson in the United States in 1985, she was awarded a trip to Japan. She was a member of the McKenzie Church of Christ, and enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by her husband, Athol B. Webb, as well as a daughter, Janice Dean Webb Blanks, and a grandson, John Andrew Andy Camp. She was also preceded in death by her three sisters, Virgie Cranford, Flossie Rochelle, and Maxie Burroughs, as well as her three brothers, Lawton Brush, Willard Brush, and William H. Brush, Jr. She is survived by a son Dr. Billy Daniel (Patricia) Webb of Russellville, Kentucky, and a daughter, Karen Webb (John) Camp of McKenzie. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Lisa Blanks Ellis, of Manchester, Kavonne Webb Mitchell, of Newburgh, Indiana, Dr. James Harrell Blanks, of Tullahoma, Brad Webb Camp, of Memphis, Julie Webb Jackson, of Helena, Alabama, and Dr. Laura Blanks Allen, of Dunlap. Mrs. Webb is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, December 26, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home, with services to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the John Andrew Andy Camp Memorial Scholarship Fund at Murray State University, or a charity of your choice.
