Dateline: McKenzie, TN Services for Mattie Novella Allen, 85, will be held Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 2:00 pm at McKenzie First Baptist Church with Brothers John Adams and Dennis Trull officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 27, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at McKenzie Funeral Home and Saturday, May 28, 2011 from 11:00 am until service time at the church. Mrs. Allen, retired from the Milan Arsenal, died Thursday, May 26, 2011 at McKenzie Regional Hospital. She was born on January 24, 1926 in Lauderdale County Tennessee to George Allen and Callie Griffin Garrett. She was a member of First Baptist Church of McKenzie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy Allen, a son Phillip Allen, a sister Beauton Taylor, and two brothers Lonzo Cochran and George Garrett. Survivors include three daughters Peggy Hutchison of McKenzie, Mary Ann (Gene) Sydnor of Oakfield, TN, and Martha (James) Hastings of McKenzie, nine grandchildren: Tim Hutchison, Mike Hutchinson, Donna Watson, Mark Sydnor, Kevin Sydnor, April Moore, Anthony Sydnor, Kim Brannon, and Susan Dyer, 18 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
