Dateline: McKenzie, TN Services for Cecil "Pete" Wilkes Brown, 87, will be held Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 3:00 pm Graveside at Bruce Cemetery in Bruce, Mississippi. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 5, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at McKenzie Funeral Home. Mr. Brown, a truck driver, died Saturday, November 5, 2011 at McKenzie Health Care Center. He was born on April 8, 1924 in West Memphis, Arkansas to Rudolph and Era Neil Brown. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church near Bruce, MS he was a WW II US Army Veteran receiving the Bronze Star. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Murphree Brown, his parents and a brother M.A. Brown. Survivors include a daughter Angela Hamilton of McKenzie, TN, two sons Cecil (Linda) Brown of McKenzie, Steve (Candy) Brown of Bartlett, TN, a sister Sue Sanders of McKenzie, A brother RD Brown, Jr. six grandchildren: Emily Kimmer, Laura Brown, Aimee Darwent, Chip Brown, Blake Sydnor, Brody Hamilton, and a great grand son Ben Kimmer .
