Services for Hortense Stroup Adcox, 88, will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 12:00 pm at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home, Bro. Kenny Carr officiating. Interment will follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home, McKenzie, TN. Mrs. Adcox, a homemaker, died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at her residence. She was born on August 23, 1923 in Henry, TN, to Erby Clyde and Mattye Blake Stroup. She was a member of Long Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erby and Mattye Stroup, and by her husband of 68 years Loren L. Adcox, Jr. Survivors include sons; Robert E. Adcox and Barton Adcox, both of McKenzie, TN and a brother Charles (Marian) Stroup, Long Island, NY. She is also survived by a granddaughter and two step granddaughters.
