Agnes Townes

Services for Agnes I. Townes, 96, will be held Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 11:00am at the Cedar Avenue Chapel of Brummitt - McKenzie Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from 5:00pm-9:00pm, and Friday, 9:00am until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Townes, a Homemaker, died Monday, July 23, 2012 at McKenzie Health Care Center. She was born on October 10, 1915, in Paris, TN to Edgar Richard and Mallie E Brewer Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jamie E. Townes, and her sister, Louise Swearingen. Mrs. Townes is survived by four daughters, Shirley (Smitty) Carter of McKenzie, Bettye (Billy) Black of Greenfield, Gail (Donald) Higdon of McKenzie and Linda Townes of McKenzie; four sons, Larry Townes of Greenfield, Terry (Brenda) Townes of Trezevant, Gary (Sherry) Townes of McKenzie and Billy Townes of McKenzie; one sister, Thelma Sexton and one brother, Frank R. Moore of McKenzie; Thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. Brummitt - McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
