Maurine Burrow Johnson

OBITUARY OF MAURINE JOHNSON. 1917-2012 Maurine Burrow Johnson, age 95, was a lifelong resident of McKenzie. She is survived by her son Keith Johnson and his wife Janet of Marietta, GA and her daughter Gayle Brittion and her husband Bruce of Smyrna, TN all of whom were by her side at her passing. She is also survived by her three grandsons, Chance Britton and his wife Melanie of Brentwood, TN, Justin Britton and his wife Sherry of Smyrna, TN. Michael Johnson and his wife Ashley of Marietta, GA., and seven great grandchildren. Born in 1917 to Quincy and Mae Burrow, she married Carl Johnson in 1937 who preceded her in death in 1975. Together, they owned and operated the R & B Cleaners in McKenzie until his passing in 1975. Afterward, she independently operated the business for many years and was known in the McKenzie business community as a self-motivating and determined business woman. As a devoted life-long member of the McKenzie Church of Christ, she was a woman of faith and character whose love for her family knew no bounds. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her. She will be remembered in a celebration of her life at the Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation with the family will be from 9:00 A.M - 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pall bearers. John Forgy of the McKenzie Church of Christ will officiate at the service.
