Dateline: McKenzie, TN Services for Mattie Artena Sikes Verner, 95, will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 11:00 am at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Brother Dennis Trull officiating. Interment will follow at Whitfield-Pavatt Cemetery near Camden, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 9:00 am until service time. Mrs. Verner, a homemaker, died Sunday, December 2, 2012 at McKenzie Health Care Center in McKenzie. She was born on August 10, 1917 in Spot, Tennessee to James Albert and Delie Ann Whitfield Sikes. She was a member of Dry Branch Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Chester Roy Verner. Survivors include a daughter Ann (Jimmy) Maxwell of McKenzie, two sons Jim (Rae) Verner of Camden, and Charles (Charlotte) Verner of McKenzie, nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
