A military graveside funeral service for Terry Blakemore, 68, will be held December 22, 2012 at 2:30 pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Mr. Blakemore passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 19th, 2012 at Jackson Regional Hospital. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 22nd from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Terry Blakemore was a retired businessman in the community. He was the former owner of TAMCO/SACO MFG and Jackson Area Auto Auction. He was current owner of The Car Wash and The Oil Change, McKenzie, TN. He was born on June 18, 1944 in McKenzie, TN to Harold and Myrtle Terry Blakemore. He was a graduate of McKenzie High School and The University of TN at Martin, he also served as a former Bank of Gleason advisory board member for 20 years. Mr. Blakemore retired after 37 years of service from the Tennessee Army National Guard 4/109th Armored battalion at the rank of full bird Colonel. Survivors include his significant other of thirteen years, Carol Finch Gooch of McKenzie; four daughters, Allison (Alan) Nunnery of Milan, TN, Julie (Mark) Summers of Gleason, TN, Nadia (Jonathan) Hensley of Baltimore, MD, Nicki (Matt) McCaleb of Mt. Juliet, TN; one son, Lee Blakemore of Jackson, TN; two sisters Ann and Alda Blakemore of Paris, TN. He was grandfather to Matthew, Nathan and Blake Nunnery; Brooke Chandler and Hunter Summers; Isabelle and Audrey McCaleb; great-grandfather to Wade Chandler.
