MCKENZIE, TN Funeral Services for Robert D. "Bob" Montgomery, 76, will be Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar Avenue Chapel of Brummitt - McKenzie Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie, TN. Visitation will be Friday, June 14, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and visitation on Saturday will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Mr. Montgomery died June 13, 2013 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was born October 27, 1936 in Lincoln County, MS, the son of Harold C Montgomery and Georgia Jordan Montgomery of Bogue Chitto, MS. Mr. Montgomery graduated from Brookhaven (MS) High School in 1953, and he also graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1957 and from Tulane Law School in 1962. After several years in business in New Orleans during which time he served as President and Office Manager of Wand Rubber Stamp Works, Inc., he and his family re-located to Jackson, TN in 1986. After retiring from Canteen Vending in Jackson in 2006, he and his wife Barbara moved to McKenzie, TN. He is a member of First Baptist Church, McKenzie where he also served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Billy G. Montgomery and a grandson, Jacob Montgomery McBride. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Barbara Lee Montgomery, whom he met in College Youth Group at St Charles Ave. Baptist Church in New Orleans. He is also survived by one daughter, Rebecca "Becky" McBride (Kenny) of McKenzie; one son, Robert L. "Bert" Montgomery (Jency) of Starkville, MS; and four grandsons, Matthew McBride and Will McBride of McKenzie, TN and Robert "Rob" Montgomery and Daniel Montgomery of Starkville, MS. Also surviving are one brother, Donald Montgomery of Tallahassee, FL and one sister, Myra M. Case of Bogue Chitto, MS. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to First Baptist Church in McKenzie or McKenzie Memorial Library.
