Dateline: McKenzie, TN Services for Page Junior Owen, 87, will be held Friday, January 10, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Brother Fred Morris officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors at New Valley Cemetery near Gleason. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Friday, January 10, 2014 from 11:00 am until service time. Mr. Owen, along with his wife Ruth was the owner and operator of Junior's Polar Bar formerly in McKenzie for 31 years, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at McKenzie Health Care Center. He was born on April 5, 1926 in Gleason, Tennessee to Charles Emerson and Lula Page Owen. He was a member of New Valley United Methodist Church, a WW II U.S. Army veteran, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4939, and a Mason and member of Caledonia Lodge 96. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Danny Wayne Owen, two sisters Adele Winstead and Mamie Cuppernell, two brothers Eulas Wade Owen and Raymond Owen. Survivors include his wife of 67 years Ruth Scott Owen of McKenzie, three daughters Brenda (Bill) Joins of Smithville, TN, Anita (Mark) Montgomery and Lisa (Don) Page of McKenzie, a son David (Sheridon) Owen of McKenzie, a sister Ruby Dotson of Jackson, TN, a brother Doyle Owen of Copley, Ohio, three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren .
