William Ernest Bynum

Dateline: McKenzie, TN Funeral services and Masonic Rites for William Ernest "Earnie" Bynum, 81, will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Reverend Jason Jones officiating. It was Mr. Bynum's and his family's wishes for cremations to follow the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 30, 2014 from 11:30 am until services. Mr. Bynum, a retired truck driver, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at McKenzie Regional Hospital. He was born on April 28, 1933 in McKenzie, TN to Hubert and Alma May Page Bynum. He was a member of McKenzie First United Methodist Church, a Master Mason belonging to Caledonia Lodge #96 in McKenzie, a member of the Tri-State Teamsters Local 667 in Memphis. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Debra Miles, and a sister Charlotte Hicks. Survivors include his wife Leaverta Carroll Bynum of McKenzie, two sons William E. Bynum, Jr. and Barry H. Bynum both of Jackson, eight grandchildren: Jennifer Kraai, Jeremy Epperson, Chad Bynum, William Harold Bynum, Michael Miles, SSGT Stephen Miles, Eric Bynum, Sam Bynum and ten great grandchildren. Five step-children: Jerry Wayne Barnes, Terry Gene Barnes, Mary Marting-Karas, Daniel Larry Marting, and C. Darlene Marting and eight step-grandchildren: Vicki May, Becky Banes, Scotty, Chris Kassay, Traci Jackson, Nicole Marley, Danny, Jr. and Felicia Mesavage.
