James Paul Townsend

James Paul Townsend, 87, died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Oak Manor Health Care Center. He retired from the City of McKenzie Street Department and was a Timber Cutter before working with the city. He was born July 2, 1927, in Mixie, TN to Edgar and Letha Townsend. Mr. Townsend was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, and two half brothers Roy Townsend and Winford Townsend. There will be no services at this time, the family has chosen cremation. Survivors include his wife Mary Ezell Chesser Townsend, three daughters Barbara Ann Franklin, Melinda Kay Mayberry and Sue Townsend, a son Ray Townsend all from McKenzie and six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
