Dr. Jerry Hale Wilcoxson

Dateline: McKenzie, TN Memorial funeral services for Dr. Jerry Hale Wilcoxson, 74, will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 6:00 pm at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Deacon Rodney Seyller of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Paris officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Dr. Wilcoxson, retired Athletic Director, Coach and Professor at Bethel University in McKenzie, died Wednesday, January 28, 2014 at his daughter's residence in Jackson. He was born on March 24, 1940 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to Robert Fulton and Irene Holder Wilcoxson. He was a communicant of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Paris, TN, a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, was an assistant basketball coach under Head Coach Doug Hines coming to Bethel College in September 1967, and was the Golf Coach for many years at Bethel College. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 42 years Beth Messenger Wilcoxson, former McKenzie Elementary School Librarian who died November 16, 2004. Survivors include two daughters Katy (Joseph) Cloutier and Annette (Jere) Galloway all of Jackson, two sisters Jeanette Yates of Lawrenceburg and Carol Brewer of Lake City, FL, a granddaughter and four grandsons.
