MCKENZIE, TN Funeral Services for Charles R. Burke will be Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar Avenue Chapel of Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home. Brother Mark Abbott will be officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Greenfield, TN. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday 9:00 a.m. until service time. Mr. Burke, the youngest child of eight children, was born December 15, 1933 in Carroll Co., TN to Bland and Norma Burke. He served in the US Air Force as an Air Policeman in Alaska for three years. Served as a Deacon for years at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (AKA "Good Low Baptist"). He retired from Milan Arsenal after thirty four years of service. He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Frances Nell Stafford Burke, three sisters, Myrtle Tegethoff, Dorothy Barker and Lucille Burke, three brothers James Burke, Edward Burke and Ernest Burke and two grandsons Dalton Hudgins and Derek Burke. He is survived by his wife of 16 ½ years Betty Allen Burke, two daughters Charlotte ( William ) Leyhue and Michele Hudgins, one son Keithel (Deb) Burke all from Greenfield, two step-daughters Betty(Herman) Jones of Huntingdon and Sandra (David) Rimmer of Atwood, a brother William(Pearlie) Burke of Bradford, seven grandchildren Jeremy (Jennifer) Leyhue, Jenea (Jake) Fisher, Jacob Burke, Jessica Burke, Colin Hudgins, Elizabeth Hudgins, Emily Hudgins, four step-grandchildren Daniel Jones, John Jones, Jeanie(Jeremy) Brooks, Randy O'Neal, five great-grandchildren Hailey Leyhue, Eli Leyhue, Blane Fisher, Josie Fisher and Jentry Burke.
