She was born July 31, 1945 in McKenzie to the Rufus and Jo Ethel Irby Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Richard Chavez. She is survived by her son David (Carol) Powell of McKenzie and her sister, Linda (Terry) Tosh of Camden.
