Penny Barksdale Knott

Dateline: McKenzie, Tennessee Services for Penny Barksdale Knott, 71, will be held Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Brother Dale Denning and Reverend Jason Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 11:00 am until service time. Mrs. Knott, an interior designer and decorator, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at her residence. She was born on November 16, 1943 in McKenzie, Tennessee to Willard and Mary Lou Miller Barksdale. She was a member of McKenzie First Baptist Church and a graduate of Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi with a degree in interior design. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her husband of 16 years Gary P. Knott of McKenzie formerly of Bradford, TN, two daughters Kelli (Gary Lynn) Jones of Trenton, TN, Kasi (Tandy) Darby of Greenfield, TN, her mother Mrs. Mary Lou Barksdale of McKenzie, a sister Jennifer (Tim) Waldrup, two brothers Billy (Tressia) Barksdale, Mark (Ann) Barksdale all of McKenzie, two granddaughters: Tess Darby and Edie Claire Darby. Pallbearers to serve will be Tandy Darby, Gary Lynn Jones, David Barksdale, Marty Morris, Shane Barksdale, and Shay Barksdale.
