Velma Faye Sherrod

Funeral services for Velma Faye Sherrod, 94, will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cedar Avenue Chapel of Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home. Burial will be at Enon Cemetery and Brother George Avery will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Sherrod, a member of Enon Baptist Church and a retired housekeeper for Oak Manor Health Care died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at McKenzie Health Care. She was born in Carroll Co. on July 12, 1921 to Charlie and Nora Ethel Dunlap. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred Sherrod, daughter Gladith Ethridge, two sisters Bida Arnold and Ramelle Dunning and one brother Floyd Dunlap. She is survived by two daughters Derotha (Kenneth) Harder and Marilyn (Ray) Crocker both of McKenzie, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
