Halton Charlton, 83, died Wednesday August 19, 2015 at McKenzie Health Care Center. Funeral services will be Sunday, August 23, 2015 2:00 p.m. at the Cedar Avenue Chapel of Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home. Brother Dennis Trull will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday August 23, 2015 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers are Wayne Cooper, Tommy Surber, Josh Vaughn, Tim Ridley, Byran Rich, Harold Sullivan and Arnold Phillips will be an honorary pallbearer. Mr. Charlton was a classroom teacher in Missouri and Puryer before moving to McKenzie where he taught Math at the Tennessee Technology Center. Later he became the Director of the Carroll County Vocational School in Huntingdon and he retired from Ceco in Milan as a Training Director. He was a member of First Baptist Church in McKenzie and also a Navy Veteran. He was born December 19, 1931 in Murray, KY to Grover and Beatrice Orr Charlton. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers Estell Charlton, Homer Charlton, James Charlton, Daris Charlton and Hal Charlton and four sisters Kathryn Langston, Azzilee Kelso, Oyna Reeves and Rachel Broach. He is survived by three sons Dwayne (Barbara) Charlton of Milan, John David Charlton of McKenzie and Clint(Hayley) Charlton of Decherd, one daughter Jennifer (David) Haywood of Nashville and a sister Betty Cameron of Detroit, MI, six grandchildren Lynnsey(Josh) Vaughn, Neriah Charlton, Nicholas Charlton, Harley Roddy, Brock Haywood and Jake Haywood and one great-grandson Ethan Vaughn.
