Nancy Brooks Wood

Dateline: MCKENZIE,TN A Memorial Service for Nancy Brooks Wood, 64, will be held Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church McKenzie. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until service time at the church in McKenzie. Mrs. Wood, a medical biller for Shannondale Health Care Center, Knoxville, TN and member of McKenzie Cumberland Presbyterian Church, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at St. Thomas West Hospital, Nashville. She was born on November 24, 1950 in Greeneville, TN to Willis and Irene Freshour Brooks. On October 5, 1985 she married Reverend Kevin L. Wood. Throughout their lives she was a faithful partner in the ministry of the church. In their thirty years of marriage they ministered churches in Greeneville, TN; Louisville, KY; Edmond, OK; Fairfield, IL; Knoxville, TN and McKenzie, TN. She was loved and respected by the members of each church they served and she was best known for her beautiful smile and her loving and caring heart. Survivors include her husband, a sister Linda Myatt of Elizabethton, TN, two brothers Reverend Wayne(Dianna) Brooks of Campbellsville, KY and Gary( Karen) Brooks of Greeneville, TN, one niece and several nephews and seven feline friends, Buster, Cleo, Abner, Audra Sophie, Newman and Sylvester.
