J D Kenneth Hampton

Dateline: McKenzie, TN   Services for J D Kenneth Hampton, 92, will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Cedar Avenue Chapel of Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Jimmy Hampton officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 12 noon until service time.  Mr. Hampton, a farmer, died Sunday, December 20, 2015 at McKenzie Healthcare Center.  He was born on April 27, 1923 in Carroll County Tennessee to Lon and Dona Lovell Hampton. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in McKenzie, a World War II U.S. Army veteran earning the Bronze Star, and a member of the Caledonia Masonic Lodge #96 in McKenzie for over 50 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 67 years Otera Hampton who died December 13, 2014, and a brother Eugenia Hampton.    Survivors include a daughter Debbie (Danny) Laster of McKenzie, two sons Jimmy (Brenda) Hampton of Huntingdon, TN, and Mike (JoAnna) of McKenzie, a sister Luvenia “Tip” Stafford of McKenzie, seven grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.    Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  For more information please call (731) 352-4848 or visit www.brummittmckenziefuneralhome.com.
