Marjorie Jean Powers

Dateline: Trezevant, TN   Ms. Marjorie Jean Powers, 85, of Trezevant who was a homemaker, died Monday, September 12, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.  She was born on October 12, 1930 in New Jersey to Claude and Mary Eppard Tisdale. She attended the Northside Baptist Church in Milan and for the past few years had been a resident at the McKenzie Healthcare Center in McKenzie.  Cremation was chosen by Ms. Powers and her children.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Lorriane Doherty, a son Wilbur Harold Powers, Jr. and a brother John Marvitz.    Survivors include six daughters Carol Anderson of Spring, Texas, Mary Taylor of Reverie, Florida, Linda Smith of Brandon, Florida, Marjorie Jean Weierman of Golden Valley, Arizona, Therisa Owen of Toronto, Canada, and Sarah Louise Nelson of South Fulton, Tennessee, three sons Richard M. Powers of Trezevant, James Matthew Powers of Milan, TN, and Joseph Daniel Powers of Fox Lake, Illinois, two sisters Frances Yost of Memphis, TN, Wilda Wyman of Fox Lake, Illinois and Conrad Marvitz of Fox Lake, Illinois.  Ms. Powers is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.    Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  For more information please call (731) 352-4848 or visit www.brummittmckenziefuneralhome.com.
