Samuel Richard Brawner

Samuel Richard (Dick) Brawner passed away on September 30, 2016 in Haslett, Michigan at 83.   Born in Gleason, TN to parents Robert F. and Annie (Heath) Brawner; Samuel (Dick) lived in Michigan most of his adult life. Married to Barbara Jean Travis in 1953 until her death in 1984; he remained devoted to her memory. Survivors include their children Debra (Daniel Smith) of Tennessee, Steven Brawner of Florida, and Timothy (Sue) Brawner of Michigan; his beloved grandchildren Stefanie, Carmen, Joel, Ashlee, Linzey and Taylor.  He also had the joy of knowing his great grandchildren Harper Grace, Emerson and Noah.  He also leaves behind a dear brother Bob (Julie) Brawner and loving sister, Mildred Maddox, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his brother Bill (Sylvia) Brawner, and sister Helen (James) Dale.  He would want to include his last two companion dogs, BJ and Bandit, as well.  Services will be held at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home in McKenzie on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 3:00 pm.  Visitation starts at 2:00 pm and will continue until stating of the service at 3:00 pm with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery following.   The family wishes to thank everyone who loved and helped our father and welcome anyone who would like to join us as we gather to pay our respects.
