Dorthy Thomas Jones

  Dateline: McKenzie, TN   Services for Dorthy Thomas Jones, 85, will be held Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Tim Coleman officiating.  Interment will follow in Fairview Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Sunday, November 13, 2916 from 12 noon until leaving to go to the church at 1:30 pm.  Mrs. Jones, a retired factory worker and homemaker, died Thursday, November 10, 2016 at her daughter’s residence.  She was born on August 7, 1931 in McKenzie, TN to Dennie G. and Willie Mae Ellis Thomas. She was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elgie Ruth Jones who died December 22, 1983, her daughter Gail Jones who died July 20, 2010, and her son Ray Jones who died July 18, 2015.    Survivors include two daughters Janie Moore and Sandra K. Laws, a son Wayne T. Jones all of McKenzie, a sister Deloris Burke of Humboldt, TN, two brothers Tom Thomas, Jr. of Oak Brooke Terrance, Ill, and William Thomas of McKenzie, five grandchildren, two step grandchildren and four great grandchildren.    Pallbearers who will be serving are Shawn Stephens, Mathew Moore, Nicholas Laws, Dusty Locke, Danny Moore, Eli Mask, and Leonel Gonzalez.   Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  For more information please call (731) 352-4848 or visit www.brummittmckenziefuneralhome.com.
