    Dateline: McKenzie, Tennessee   Services for Charles W. “Mr. Chuck” Cooper, 82, will be held Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with military honors by the US Marine Corps.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 10:30 am until service time.  Mr.  Cooper a former press operator and welder for Budd Automotive in Gary, Indiana for almost 30 years, operated Madura Gas Station in Gary, worked for Republic Doors in McKenzie, owned and operated Cooper’s Union 76 service station and truck stop, and most recently was the chief maintenance man at McDonald’s Restaurant in McKenzie died Saturday, May 13, 2017 at his residence.  He was born on March 22, 1935 in McKenzie, Tennessee to Murray Lee and Ivie Pearl Hudgins Cooper. He was in the United States Marine Corps serving during the Korean War and member of the American Legion.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Ada Louise Richardson, Tavey Emerline “Emer” Morris, and Dorothy Lee Cooper Turney Parkins, and a brother Harold Cooper.    Survivors include his wife that missed their 54th wedding anniversary by 10 days Beverly J. Lee Cooper of McKenzie, two daughters Shelia Gail (George) Cook of Arizona, Brenda Lee Wellman of St. Mary’s Georgia, three sons Charles W. Cooper, Jr. of Fernandina Beach, Florida, Norman (Sarah) Philips of Sarasota, Florida, and Victor Murray Allan of Texas, a brother Joe David (Norma) Cooper of Seymour, TN, and by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.    Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  For more information please call (731) 352-4848 or visit www.brummittmckenziefuneralhome.com.
