James Edward Cole

  Dateline: McKenzie, TN   Services for James Edward “Pinky” Cole, 72, will be held Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Brother Bud Merwin and Brother Jason Jackson officiating.  Interment will follow at Union Academy Cemetery located on State Highway 436.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 10:00 am until service time.  Mr. Cole, retired from Varsity Cheer Uniforms, died Friday, July 28, 2017 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.  He was born on March 11, 1945 in Henry County Tennessee to Hurshel and Mildred Grisham Cole. He was a member of Union Academy Baptist Church a US Army veteran serving from 1963 to 1966.  He was preceded in death by his parents, by two daughters Vonda Cole and Jennifer Melton.    Survivors include his wife of 26 years Jane Angelyn Wilkes Cole of McKenzie, a son and his wife James Gregory (Amanda) Cole of Greenfield, TN, two sisters Lee VanBuskirk of St. Louis, MO and Delores (Rodney) Brewer of Sharon, TN and three grandchildren.    Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  For more information please call (731) 352-4848 or visit www.brummittmckenziefuneralhome.com.
