Barbara Ann Cooper, 67, died Sunday, July 30, 2017 at McKenzie Health Care Center. She was born May 15, 1950 in McKenzie, TN to Warren and Pearl Britton Cooper, whom have preceded her in death. Ms.Cooper was a resident of NW Indiana for most of her life, until retiring to McKenzie, TN. She was a dedicated teacher in the Hammond Public School System for 29 years…the only thing she ever wanted to do her whole life. She was a member of State Street Baptist Church in Hammond, IN for many years, and then First Baptist Church Griffith, IN after that. While living in McKenzie, she was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church McKenzie. Survivors include her brother Gary (Victoria) Cooper of Portage, IN, a niece Kimberley (Pat) O’Leary, two nephews Gregory ( Mary) Cooper and Patrick (Kate) Kasch, two Uncles Charlie (Jan) Cooper and Wayne(Bobbie) Cooper, an Aunt Jean Adams Irvin, a special cousin Jim Cooper and a special friend and caretaker Lisa Newman. Ms. Barbara was loved and adored by her niece and nephews who will miss her very much, as we all will. Per her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. The greatest tribute you could make for her would be to help someone in need, as she spent much of her life and financial resources doing just that.
