Bess Evelyn Maddox Melton

    Dateline: Dresden, Tennessee   A memorial visitation and a graveside committal services for Bess Evelyn Maddox Melton, 90, will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018 with visitation with the family starting at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Matheny Grove Primitive Baptist Church on the Boydsville Road in Dresden, TN.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Ms. Melton a former Deputy Clerk with the Trustee’s Office of Weakley County, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden.  She was born on December 6, 1927 in Palmersville, TN to Willie and Esteen Roberts Maddox. She was a member of the Matheny Grove Primitive Church and had been living most recently near Springville in Henry County.  She was preceded in death by a son William Carl Melton, her parents, and a brother Dwayne Maddox.    Survivors include two daughters Sharon (Jim) Crawford of Springville, TN, Celeste Hawks of Dresden, TN, two sons Mickey (Renee) Melton of Lexington, TN, Brent (Cynthia) Melton of Dresden, TN, a brother Douglas (Carolyn) Maddox of McKenzie and a sister in law Sue Maddox of Dresden, TN.    Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  For more information please call (731) 352-4848 or visit www.brummittmckenziefuneralhome.com.
