Johnny Fred Gowan

Dateline: Trezevant, Tennessee   Services for Johnny Fred Gowan, 83, will be held Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Trezevant First Baptist Church with Brother Malcolm Norton officiating.  Interment will follow at Trezevant Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant and Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 1:00 pm until service time at the Trezevant First Baptist Church.  Mr. Gowan, a General Foreman on “B” Line at the Milan Arsenal Ammunition Plant in Milan, died Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.  He was born on January 15, 1935 in Lavinia, Tennessee to Luther Cecil and Delia Little Gowan. He was a member of Trezevant First Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Juanita Rawlins Woodard and a brother William Roy Gowan.    Survivors include his wife Patricia Ann Yancey Gowan of Trezevant, a daughter Karen (Jim) Pirtle of Milan, TN, a son Mark (Beverly) Gowan of Huntingdon, TN, a sister Carolyn Utley of Huntingdon, four grandchildren Lorien (Trenton) Fleener of New Orleans, Louisiana, Ian (Brittany) Gowan of Huntingdon, Jon-Marc (Megan) Gowan of Cedar Grove, TN, and Ashley Pirtle of Maysville, Kentucky.   Pallbearers who will be serving are: Jimmy Phillips, Jackie Bogle, Jim Moore, Steven Foster, Tommy Hodgson, Major Walpole, and as honorary Jimmy Dale Phillips.   Brummitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  For more information please call (731) 669-3871 or visit www.brummittmckenziefuneralhome.com.
